The idea of viadux^® was to facilitate the quickest possible arrival of dispatch units at the site of duty. This does not neces- sarily mean that the shortest route will be the quickest. How- ever, time is one of the decisive factors in dispatch planning.

A special feature of viadux^® is that all circumstances of impor- tance during the approach are calculated in route planning.

This advantage is considerable in comparison with traditional map navigation, as the software takes into consideration roads that are hard or impossible to take due to gates or other ob- stacles, it facilitates tactical route planning in case of several dispatches, or – if required – current traffic data can also be integrated into the calculations, only to mention a few examples.

In combination with GPS vehicle location viadux^®will suggest the vehicle that is best positioned to reach its place of assign- ment as quickly as possible, irrespective of the route distance to be covered.

Since in addition viadux^®does not remain static but is learning all the time, the software offers the best combination of intelli- gent and anticipatory dispatch planning.
